Professor Masaya Sawamura

Masaya Sawamura was born in Kochi in 1961. He got PhD from Kyoto University in 1989. M. Sawamura is a Professor of organometallic chemistry at Hokkaido University since 2001. He has got several awards including Asian Core Program Lectureship Award (2008, 2012, 2013), The Chemical Society of Japan Award for Creative Work (2012) and Nissan Chemical Industries Award for Novel Reaction and Method (2014). He has published more than 10 articles in Angewandte Chemie in the last 10 years. His current research interests are focused on transition-metal catalysts based on functionalized solids; cooperative chiral catalysts; organocatalytic reactions using chiral phosphoric acid derivatives; C-H functionalization and copper catalysis.
