Professor Andrey Karasik

A.E. Arbuzov Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry, Kazan, Russia

Andrey Karasik was born in Kazan, Russia, and graduated at the Kazan State University. He received his PhD in 1986 from the A.E. Arbuzov Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry under the guidance of Professor Oleg Erastov in the laboratory of Academician Boris Arbuzov. He got “Doctor of Chemical Science” degree in 2003. Now he is Deputy sci-director at the Arbuzov Institute and a head of research group in the Laboratory of Organometallic and Coordination Compounds. Karasik’s research interests include fundamental and applied chemistry of cyclic and macrocyclic phosphorus compounds, he developed the concept of covalent self-assembly of phosphorus macroheterocycles.
